Olympics! We love Olympics!

That's what Nathan says about the 2010 Olympic Games. Olympics really are great. We have been watching hours and hours of them. The kids have become huge fans of Russia due to an episode of Little Einsteins that they love. They cheer for Russia a lot. I asked Nathan where one skier was from and expecting him to say USA or Russia, I was quite surprised to hear him say, "South Banana." I guess geography lessons should be next. Nathan loves the freestyle skiing, and unfortunately, he laughs hysterically when they crash, but then when they get up he says, "Oh, I am OK!" His sound effects make every event exciting.

I asked Abbie if she wanted to watch the ice skating with me, and she told me she would rather watch hockey because she loves hockey and that should be ok because it has skates and ice so hockey was ice skating. I have convinced them to watch some figure skating and thanks to their fondness of Little Einsteins they are familiar with some classical music--especially the Firebird which for some strange reason has shown up in three of the competitions. All three kids love to dance around with the music. Andrew laughs and laughs at his siblings moves.

Abbie wants to drive the bobsled when she grows up because it's just like driving a car except on ice, and she is going to be a bus driver when she grows up--bus #31 that is. She has decided that short track speed skating is more interesting than the long track. They both think skeleton looks fun (I think it looks insane.)

Overall, it's been a fun thing for our family to enjoy together. The kids feel like Bob Costas is one of the gang, and we've all enjoyed this bright spot in the gray weather as we eagerly await spring.
