Hales Family Fest

For the first time in many years, all of my brothers and sisters were in the same place at the same time. My sister came from Minnesota and my older brother came from New Mexico. Abbie had tons o' fun with all the cousins, and she was very sad to see them go home.

While the cousins were in town, we did a tour of Rexburg which included the BYU-Idaho gardens, the spray park and the carousel in Porter Park. I was a little skeptical about the spray park because my kids wouldn't even run through the sprinkler unless I was holding their hand, but once Abbie got wet and saw the other kids playing, she became part fish. She especially loved the slide. For days, she kept asking me if Daddy could put a big sprinkler like at the park in our backyard. Occasionally, she still asks if we can go back to that park. Nathan took awhile to get excited, but he had fun, too. Abbie liked the carousel, and said it was just like the one in Mary Poppins. Nathan, however, was not a fan.

We also took family photos which I'll post when we get them back (that is if they turned out ok... I wasn't particularly excited about a photo shoot since Andrew's arrival is getting closer, but I relented. Hopefully, a little photoshop work will make the images tolerable for viewers ;-)

Here are some photos from our family adventures:

Nathan enjoying the spray park. Abbie wouldn't hold still long enough to get a picture. If fact, she didn't even want to come by mom. She just wanted to play.
Abbie and Mom enjoying the carousel. Abbie, the true equestrian that she is, decided this horse was the best because of the blue decorations that matched her blue shirt.

What great pictures! I love the one where they are all laying on the ground. I am impressed you got them all to hold still long enough for that pictures. Looks like you had a blast!
