We'll miss Pres. Hinckley

Like many others, our family was both sad and glad to hear about President Hinckley's passing. We'll miss his wisdom that was so often delivered with his trademark sense of humor, but it would selfish of us to wish that he could stay with us a little longer when he is in a much better place with those he loves and has served. We told Abbie that Pres. Hinckley had gone to heaven to live with Jesus. She asked where heaven was and if she could visit them there. She was sad that he was gone. A few days later when I was reading some of the online media coverage, she saw a picture of Pres. Hinckley and the Salt Lake Temple. She told me with all of her three-year-old wisdom and faith that everything was ok because Pres. Hinckley had gone to live with Jesus in heaven, and they were together in the temple. We'll miss Pres. Hinckley, but we are so grateful to have a knowledge of the plan of salvation.

I have read a lot of media coverage about the event, and some of it is good and some of it is only sort of right. I saw a tribute to Pres. Hinckley a few days ago, and although I don't always agree with the speaker (and he can be rather obnoxious sometimes), I thought it was one of the best tributes by someone in the media. After watching, it made me want to be better because I knew that was what Pres. Hinckley had asked of all us: to do a little better.
