Reading for Scoops

For preschool homework, (yes there is homework in preschool these days), Nathan gets to do reading for 15 minutes everyday. For each day that he reads, he earns a paper ice cream scoop for his ice cream cone at school. After ten scoops, he gets a prize. Nathan is really good about making sure he reads or has Mom, Dad, Abbie, Grandma or Grandpa read to him.

The other day I caught Nathan reading for scoops to Andrew. Not only is he a greater reader, he's a great brother.

Nathan is definitely my little reader. He is great about sounding out words he doesn't know, and he loves to read all the books the minute we get them home from the library. Right now, Nathan loves the Piggie and Gerald series by Mo Willems. His favorite is I Will Surprise My Friend. If you aren't familiar with these you really should check them out. They are a Farmer Family favorite.

Wow, 15 minutes? J-Man only has to read for ten. That's good he likes it so much though. And so cute that he reads to Andrew, what a great big brother!
