So just what are they teaching in preschool these days?

Abbie has thoroughly enjoyed her preschool experience. She loves to come home and tell me all the things she learned that day. Her handwriting, coloring and cutting has improved a great deal over the last few months. But there are some days when I wonder just how closely she was paying attention. Today they celebrated Abraham Lincoln's birthday. She could spout off a few facts like he was the president, and he lived in a log house, and his face is on the penny. I asked her why they were learning about Abe Lincoln and she said it was because it was his birthday. I asked her how old he was on his birthday, and she, with great confidence, told me "Four!" Boy, Abe you look really tired for four.

Today she also told me that she asked Anthony (one of her fellow preschool scholars) to marry her. Evidently his response was "Thank you." I explained that if she got married she'd have to move away and do all the laundry by herself so she agreed to wait until she at least finished the 16th grade and was a grown up. We've been talking a lot about going to the temple lately because of the Draper open house (another post coming soon) and getting married so I am hoping that is what put the idea in her funny little brain. Oh, Abbie you funny funny kid.
