Cookies and other projects

With Nathan and Abbie now sharing a bedroom, Abbie can't play in her room during Nathan's naps. I am trying to come up with ideas for projects to do with her so that she won't just sit and stare at the walls and drive us both nuts. Today's project was sugar cookies. We had a lot of fun making the dough and then making the cookies. I think my favorite part was when I looked up and saw how she had accidentally powdered her nose. :-) I must admit this was the most fun I have ever had making sugar cookies. She was a great helper and even made the awful task of cleaning up fun. The bonus is that the cookies actually taste good.

Enjoying the fruit of her labors. She really liked the gingerbread man and butterfly cookie cutters. She told me I could be the duck.

Today she also played teacher with her chalkboard. She taught me how to make the letter "D" and how to turn an 11 into the letter H. She was pretty funny when she asked if I had any questions. I asked her something and she said, "I am sorry that is not a chalkboard question. Do you have any chalkboard questions?" I admitted that I didn't, and she said that we could try something else now.
