Monday, Monday

So this is definitely a Monday. Since we traveled to Utah over the weekend, the fact that today was going to be crazy was a given. I have piles and piles of laundry to do, groceries to buy, a trip to the bank,a house to attempt to clean and organize, FHE to plan, and kids to rear. I thought I was doing really good when I had one load in the washer and one in the dryer, and we were headed to the grocery store and bank. I had even organized my shopping list in order of the aisles in the store to make the trip super fast so we could be home in time for lunch, and Nathan could have his nap while I began the seemingly endless piles of laundry to be folded while I pondered FHE lessons and treats. The bank was great. They even gave us extra tootsie rolls. Abbie was in heaven. We made in and out the grocery store in record time and under budget with Abbie and Nathan only having two screaming fits. Things were going great.

Until I got home. My checker forgot to put one of the bags back into the cart... and since it had over $15 worth of groceries in it and the two foods my kids love the most (broccoli and yogurt), I had to correct the situation. I called the store and the service lady tracked down the bag, and she offered to refrigerate the perishables since I couldn't make it back until the kids had finished eating. After a painful process of getting through lunch and getting the kids back in the car, (Nathan was so confused...I got him down from the table and he said, "Night, night Mama" his usual routine after lunch.) we headed back to the store.

I found a great parking space only to discover after parking why a spot in such a prime location was still vacant....the massive puddle that was in just the right spot to plant your foot upon leaving your vehicle. Bonus! Sloshing into the store, I learned that the lady that took care of the fridge portion of our project was gone for the day, and her replacement had no idea where my food was. While she searched for twenty-five minutes, I tried to entertain a very tired and confused Nathan and a very annoyed Abbie. Finally, we left the store. Of course Nathan fell asleep on the way home. Oh, and did I mention that the maintenance required light is now on in the van? At least Nathan stayed asleep when I transfered him to his crib. Dryer is beeping. Gotta go.

Don't you just love Mondays? It seems to be the story of most of my Mondays. But it does sound like you got a lot done. I wish I could be as productive on my Mondays. (=
