The month of changes

So this past month has been pretty crazy around our house. We've been tackling major changes, trying to solve what to us was a major problem, maintain life and have a little bit of fun as we hung on during the roller coaster ride.

First, Michael changed jobs. BYU-I was a good job for him while he finished school, but as graduation crept closer and as his responsibilities were changed, we knew it was time for a change. He has been working as a contractor with Kynetx for about a year, and this past month, they were in a position to bring him on full time so we made the leap. Since their headquarters are in Lehi, he is working from home and traveling to Utah twice a month. It's been great to have him home and enjoying his work again.

Another change/issue we resolved was with our car. About six months ago, we changed cars. The 'new' car was a dud with a need for a new $2000 transmission. A local car dealer had a promotion this weekend that if you stop by you get a free turkey. Since we needed more info on a trade and love poultry, Michael made a stop on Saturday. Over an hour later, he calls me and says he can make a great deal on a car. We were fortunate to make a great trade with our dud for a '08 Kia Optima which hopefully will fill our needs for the next several years. I told Michael he'd better like it cause he's driving it until he's 40.

Our ward boundaries also changed this last month. We are now in a brand new ward, and we are trying to figure out where we fit in and who we'll be fitting in with. This may not seem like a big change to some, but to kids who love their Primary teachers and friends, it's been a big deal for our family.

We're looking forward to the holidays and especially Michael's graduation (only 27 more days--we made our construction paper chains last night :-).

It's been a roller coaster, but we survived. Whew! I am glad it's all behind us now.

Glad to hear you guys survived! When sickness followed injuries which were followed by the job change, I was starting to wonder if anything would ever be considered "normal" in the Farmer household again :)
