Fill 'er up! That'll be $1,495, please.

Last week Michael purchased gas prior to his trip to Utah. Not too exciting, I know. The story does get more exciting. Unfortunately, we were randomly selected by a computer glitch to be charged 43 times for that tank of gas.

$1,495 later and several calls to Maverick headquarters, we thought we were going to see the end of the disaster as they were going to wire the money back to our account. Then we had the holiday weekend, and when our bank reopened, they noticed the problem and had Maverick reimburse us through the debit card but only for 32 charges, but we were already in line to be reimbursed on the VISA side of things for the full charge. Maverick and the bank are trying to figure it all out.

So the good news is that we have been reimbursed and then some. The bad news is that we have to give some money back, but we have absolutely no idea how much. I don't know how I will ever balance my checkbook again. Michael told me to just stop looking at the account until it is resolved because it's driving my bookkeeping mind crazy. He's probably right so I guess the kids and I'll just run errands today. Hopefully, we won't need to buy anymore gasoline. Library anyone?

I loved the story. I'm sorry that you were the ones picked though.

Solar cars sound better all the time :)
