I still simply can't believe it. On Monday, Abbie and Mom went over to our neighborhood elementary school, Bridgewater Elementary, for kindergarten preregistration. She did great on her assessment test and was very excited to see her new school. We saw the kindergarten rooms, and she was so excited that she wanted to go right in and meet her teacher. Since classes were in session, I convinced her to wait until registration in August.
Abbie is really excited to go and be a Bridgewater Bulldog. In my opinion, she's the cutest bulldog on the block.I feel a lot better about the whole thing after visiting the new school. The school building is brand new this year so I won't have to worry about bricks falling on her head like my mom did when we went to elementary school. One of the ladies working in the office used to be in our ward, and I know that she is super nice. All of the officers in the PTO are in our ward. They asked to me volunteer, but I needed time for all this to set in before I volunteered to run some fund raiser or something. Occasionally, I still have to remind myself that the notes Abbie brings home from preschool with "Dear Parents" are for me, and I don't have to give them to my mom. It's going to be a change for our family, but she's ready so it'll be a good change.
Hurray for Bridgewater Elementary, home of the bulldogs!
